Concerto: world premiere on the Ördögkatlan!

An old dream of ours will come true on 5th August 2016 at the 'Reconciliation Chapel' in Beremend. Cooperating with the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Art Festival and with the National Dance Theatre, we'll be the spectators of a dance theatre world premiere, directed by Csaba Horváth. Bartók's Concerto will be adapted by one of the most renowned, independent Hungarian company, the Forte Company. One of the outstanding compositions of the 20th century will be performed live by the Hungarian Studio Orchestra.

Bartók's music is the culmination and the last summary of an era revolving around the faith in humanity and cleanness right after the end of the second World War in 1944. Bartók has not lived long enough to discover the horrors of the second World War, thus although his piece was written in a dark, hectic and anxious tone, the atmosphere of the ending is already a manifestation of vigour and a belief in a more just future. Having this, it's one of the few compositions with a positive ending from pieces of the last century.

During the first part of the evening, Richard Strauss' Four Last Songs will be performed by Klára Kolonics featuring the Hungarian Studio Orchestra.
