Psyché by Sándor Weöres

Kaposvár University – National Theatre

Returning to the beautiful Sculpture Park!

Rebellion, liberty, love. Which is liberating and deathly at the same time, gives wings and breaks, destroys. The orgiastic and exorbitant Psyché is about such things. This is the inextricable collection of secrets in Sándor Weöres’ art, the lustful and decorous eroticism of which is captivating, while its deep knowledge of humans is impressive.

We’re introduced to this poetic world by the performance staged at the National Theatre, the open-air version, performed by the acting class of the Kaposvár University, debuted with a big success in the Gyula Castle Theatre during the summer of 2015.

Amongst material and intellectual, bodily and spiritual, real and fictional temptations and ghosts, between tulles and veils, with the transient sensation of close but still far away, the young people tell a very personal story. The specialty of the performance is that not only one but all actresses are Psyché since in all women there is a Psyché desiring liberty and love, ready to break out.

The performance is recommended for audience aged 18 years or higher!
