Professor Eduard Wulfson, director of the Stradivarius Society, discovered Baráti at the „Jacques Thibaud" Competition in 1996. The young violin virtuoso got the third prize and audience prize at the Queen Elisabeth” International Violin Competition organized in 1997, in Brussels, at the earlier mentioned „Jacques Thibaud” International Violin Competition in Paris, he won the second prize in 1996, and a year before he won the „Rodolfo Lipizer” International Violin Competition in Gorizia. This year, he won the 6th Paganini International Violin Competition in Moscow.
