Karavan Familia

Karavan Familia, which is a unique family band formed by the parents and children, has built its own world in the past 10 years based on the Gypsy vocal traditions. While dedicating their talent and knowledge to the creation of quality Gypsy music, they’ve also proven that Gypsy music is intelligent, witty, wise and embracing. The source of their melodies is not a single landscape or Roma group but the entire European Gypsy cultural and musical heritage. In addition to the different typical European Gypsy style, one can feel the atmosphere of Latin music, blues and pop in their songs. From all of these, a not yet heard Gypsy world music was born. However, the Karavan Familia managed to maintain its own style besides the diversity, and this style is both youthful and traditionalist, both entertaining and likable. Their newest, third album was selected among the 20 best world music album by the jury of the World Music Charts Europe in May 2014.
