Szabó Benedek és a Galaxisok

The first solo album of Benedek Szabó is called Kapuzárási Piknik (“Midfry Crisis”), which threw aside the usual alternative themes and got for their place the mood of Tamás Cseh and of the Neutral Milk Hotel. The songs are to the extremities personal in their topic but expressing a general way of feeling in their messages, they inventoried the anxieties, fears and desires of an entire age group; it is not accidentally that it is considered to be one of the best Hungarian records of the past few years. Same applies to its sequel coming out this year, now under the name of Szabó Benedek és a Galaxisok. The A legszebb éveink (“Our best years”) is similar in its topic but is more relaxed in its atmosphere and the band expanded from a trio to a quartet meanwhile.

Big and small city nights, house parties, one night stands, hangovers, a bit of melancholy, getting smashed occasionally – the sometimes gently tinkling, sometimes troubled and wavering songs are performed by the band comprising Soma Bradák drummer, Ákos Günsberger guitarist and László Sallai bassist.
